In November 2006, Roger Hack and Steve Steer purchased the Salem office of Hill, Barth & King LLC. They are operating the business as it was prior to the purchase retaining the same employees and serving the community.

Principal

 

STEVEN D. STEER, CPA, CVA, is a principal with Hack, Steer & Co., LLC. Mr. Steer has extensive experience in consulting with individuals and business owners on accounting and tax issues. He has more than 25 years experience in the tax departments of national and regional accounting firms and continues as the chief tax resource for Hack, Steer & Company, LLC He has been a frequent speaker and lecturer at university-sponsored seminars and before business groups as an expert witness in Mahoning, Stark, Trumbull and Columbiana County courts. Mr. Steer earned his B.S. degree in accounting from Malone University and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1983. He earned the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts in 1996.

Manager Assisting local businesses and individuals with tax consulting, planning and preparation, financial statement preparation and QuickBooks accounting issues.  Hack, Steer & Company, LLC purchased the Salem office of Hill, Barth & King, LLC.

November 1983 to May 2000 Murray & Company,CPAs, Wilmington, NC

 

Partner Worked with wide variety of small business clients, with concentrations of clients in the medical and construction professions, providing tax consulting, planning and preparation, financial statement preparation and business consulting.  Assisted many businesses with QuickBooks  accounting.  Left the firm to move back home to Salem. 

 

1980 to 1983 Farmers National Bank, Salem and Canfield, Ohio

 

Worked with the bank when the Salem office was opened, transferred 

to the main office in Canfield and worked in the audit department until

moving to North Carolina.
